Paris Fashion Week – We loved Rochas – Be Bohemian and Sporty!

“Youth, simplicity and romance.” This is how Marco Zanini, artistic director of Rochas for the past seven seasons, summarizes the spring-summer collection 2013, presented in Paris, on Wednesday, September 26th, 2012. Visibly relaxed in his sailor’s cap, the Italian designer, 41 years old, welcomed the audience at the end of the show at the Grand Palais.

Former assistant Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have created a “hopeless romantic and optimistic, which is not only soft and sweet, but strong and powerful.” An ambivalence that is reflected in their sportswear creations (wrestler sneakers, dancer baggy skirt, high waist boxer shorts, polo tennis…) softened by touches of romanticism with the scarves and large flower headband created by the Maison Lemarie.

Ponytail ultra-low and round sunglasses in acetate, models parade on a very sixties soundtrack, wearing pale rainbow colours (lilac, chalk, silver…) as well as more intensive (blackcurrant, raspberry, chocolate…).

The fabrics chosen were sumptuous silk satins for these cinched at the waist dresses, satin for tailors skirts, changing taffeta skirts for petticoat skirts, chiffon for the long pleated skirt and delicate lamé for coats or jackets.

Besides these beautiful dresses, we enjoyed the shoes. Presented as boots, these white sneakers may count among the trends for next season.
